2 day course: Intermediate Glazing - developing your own glaze.

  • Coombe Farm Studios (map)

This two-day course is for potters who already have a bit of basic glaze knowledge and want to learn how to mix and develop glazes. You will be taught the fundamentals of glaze chemistry in an accessible way, exploring how to fix glaze faults, and learn how to alter glaze recipes to develop your own glaze. This is a hands-on practical course so you will mix your own base glaze from scratch, and develop knowledge about oxides and stains for colouring your glazes. The course is led by Raphaela Seck and Jodie Crook-Giles who both work as professional potters, and have experience of working in a busy community pottery and teaching glazing and throwing. For more information about Raphaela and Jodie view their tutor profiles here.
