This 4 day course will focus on a move away from representational colour in the landscape, and encourage exciting interpretational work using soft pastel as the primary medium in a mixed media process.
Sarah Bee has been a member of The Pastel Society, and part of the Federation of British Artists, for almost 20 years.
During this time she has made it her mission to lift pastel painting from the doldrums of a long held dull and traditional reputation into the deserved spotlight of inspiring contemporary art.
Sarah has been teaching at Coombe for the past few years and is an exceptional tutor, generous with her skills and enabling many participants to progress in their work. Join Sarah on this course and have guidance to push the boundaries of colour away from the naturalistic towards mark led painterly and expressive depictions of the stunning South Devon landscape.
We will paint in the studio using interpretation of sketches, words and information gathered outside in the landscape - culminating in production of personal and energetic work.
Sarah will demonstrate regularly, and offer frequent individual tuition.
