This watercolour painting course with Paul Riley makes the most of the stunning area around Coombe by taking participants on location painting following the water from our stream at Coombe, to the River Dart in Dittisham and out to sea at Blackpool sands.
Paul loves painting waterscapes and the accompanying skyscapes that go hand-in-hand. Attention is given to the flow and luminosity of watercolour painting and particular waterscape subjects including the rendering of boats and their elusive perspective. This course offers a great opportunity for you to get to grips with atmosphere in waterscapes and to explore the stunning River Dart. If the weather bad we you’ll still make the most of the locations by going out and taking quick sketches and photos and bring them back to work on in the studio.
How to set out your painting in sequences to achieve the results you want will be tutored as part of the course which is suitable for those with extensive watercolour painting experience as well as those who are beginners or with intermediate ability.
